Funtastic Friday Field Trips

6-14 years old 

Join us on Fridays as we adventure to exciting locations. Pre-registration is required by the registration deadline or until the trip fills. Extended care is available from 8:00 a.m. and until 5:30 p.m. for an additional $8 per trip. Please select the option during registration. 

Drop-off and pick-up for each trip will take place at Autumn Grove Park Building at Lydia and Hamline. Please arrive at the time listed to allow for check-in and trip preparation. Return times are approximate, due to traffic and other issues outside our control, please be prompt to stated return time when picking up your participant. 

Please note: We rely on you, as parents and guardians, to use discretion in determining whether your participant is mature enough to attend events on their own. 

Vertical Endeavor and Whirlyball

June 12
Climb walls up to 60 feet tall at Vertical Endeavors, which offers some of the largest indoor climbing facilities in the country. After our time at Vertical Endeavors, we will roll out to Whirlyball where participants can experience a new mashup game. Whirlyball combines hockey, lacrosse and bumper cars! Whirlyball is a team sport for all skill levels. After playing Whirlyball, get your adrenaline pumping with laser tag! A pizza lunch will be included on the trip. Participants who have a dietary need may bring their own lunch. Please bring a refillable water bottle and wear close toed shoes with socks.

Fawn-Doe-Rosa and Aerial Challenge Course 

June 19
Step into nature at Fawn-Doe-Rosa Wildlife Educational Park. We will have the opportunity to pet and feed deer along with other farmyard friends. After lunch, we will make the trek to Trollhaugen Outdoor Recreation Area to complete the aerial challenge course. This course is an extremely fun experience offering  seven different circuits and five levels of difficulty. Please bring a bag lunch tennis shoes, refillable water bottle, and sunscreen.


June 26
From flips and dips to a 200-foot drop, there’s excitement galore on Valleyfair’s
seven thrilling roller coasters, including Steel Venom, an impulse coaster with a twist! Don’t miss Power Tower - 275 feet of extreme scream! For those looking for relaxed thrills, the park offers a myriad of magical delights. There’s something for everyone at Valleyfair! All rides inside the park are included in admission, including the water rides. We will not be visiting Challenge Go-Cart Park. Please bring a bag lunch, refillable water bottle, towel, sunscreen, and wear a swimsuit.

Crayola Experience and Nickelodeon Universe

July 10
Immerse yourself in to the world of Crayola as you explore, create, and witness all you can do with just a little color. Participants will be able to design their own color crayon, participate in fun games, learn about how crayons are made and much more! Not only will we be able to walk around the biggest mall in the USA, but we will also get to have some fun at Nickelodeon Universe. Hop on the Fairly Odd Coaster or take a ride on SpongeBob Squarepants Rock Bottom Plunge. Whichever rides you choose, you will have a blast! Please bring a bag lunch and refillable water bottle.

Bell Museum and SeaQuest

July 17
Prepare for a journey through space and time in the Minnesota Journeys gallery at the Bell Museum. Dive into space exploration and the diversity of life, learning about topics like survival, family, and current University of Minnesota research. At SeaQuest, you’ll get hands on with animals from Iceland, China, the Amazon and beyond while learning about ecosystems and each animals dietary needs. Please bring a bag lunch and refillable water bottle.

Urban Air and Coon Rapids Dam

July 24
Spend the morning hiking the trails of the Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park. After lunch, we will head to Urban Air Adventure Park. The Adventure Park features prozone Trampoline, drop zone dodge ball courts, slam dunk courts and more. Please bring a bag lunch, sunscreen, refillable water bottle, and wear closed toed shoes with socks.

Minnesota Zoo

July 31
Join us as we head to the wildest place in the Twin Cities, the Minnesota Zoo!
Housing 4,880 animals, including 551 species, the Minnesota Zoo offers cuttingedge exhibits so you will be introduced to the animals in their habitats. At the end of the day we will cool off in the splash pad and enjoy time on the playground. Please bring a bag lunch, refillable water bottle, swimsuit, towel and sunscreen.

Oliver Kelley Farm

August 7
Get immersed in the world of 1860s farming, when agriculture in Minnesota looked very different than it does today. As we tour the Historic Oliver Kelley Farmstead we will meet farm animals, interact with costumed staff as they work in the house, barn, garden, and fields, and participate in a variety of activities that follow the farming cycle and change with the season. Please bring a bag lunch, refillable water bottle, and sunscreen and wear closed toed shoes.

Robin Hood and Grand Slam

August 14
Excitement runs high in this thrilling new musical adaption of the favorite childhood adventure story, Robin Hood at Sidekick Theatre. Wielding a bow and arrow, Robin and his merry men join forces to stand up for what’s right. But in this hilarious new take on the fabled story, Robin and his friends are full of hijinks, clowning and fun—and they’ll include the audience in the action. Following the performance we will head to Grand Slam for Lasertag, Xtreme Trampoline, Playzone, Mini Golf, Bumper Cars, Batting Cages and arcade games. Please bring a bag lunch and wear shoes with socks.

Conquer Ninja Warrior and Blainbrook Bowl

August 21
Learn and build you ninja skills at Conquer Ninja Warrior. Participants climb, jump, and leap from one obstacle to another to become a true Ninja Warrior. Next we head to Blainbrook Bowl to enjoy a pizza lunch and bowling. Participants who have a dietary need may bring their own lunch or money to purchase alternative food from Blainbrook Bowl. Please bring a refillable water bottle and wear shoes with socks.

Cascade Bay Waterpark

August 21
Cascade Bay has fun for all ages. Plunge in to the large leisure pool or tip-toe in slowly along the zero-depth entry. Choose a tube and glide along the lazy river or test one of the seven waterslides or put your toes in the sand at Sandpiper Beach. We will take a break from the water to play a round of mini-golf on the Captain’s Course. Please bring a bag lunch, refillable water bottle, sunscreen, towel, and wear a swimsuit.
