Roseville has partnered with The Food Group to create a community orchard. The Orchard includes fruit trees, shrubs, vines and vegetables. The project consists of:
• providing long-term fresh food access to those in need
• creating opportunities to learn & practice tree care & harvesting techniques
• improving the health of Roseville’s residents & environment
• sharing information with other communities interested in starting publicly
accessible edible landscapes.
Individuals are encouraged to get involved in creating a living laboratory for teaching residents how to care for and grow their own sustainable food source. Educational opportunities include pruning, weeding and harvesting. Contact City Volunteer Coordinator Kelly O’Brien (651-792-7028) if you are interested in helping.
