The early spring means many homeowners are getting a jump on yardwork. One of the big projects is often raking leaves, grass, mulch and dead plant material to prepare the soil for spring planting.
The City of Roseville reminds you that these items may not be raked into the street. Homeowners are responsible to dispose of any yard waste.
Residents have several options to dispose of yard waste. Leaves can be dropped off at Roseville’s Leaf Compost site at 2580 Dale St. The gates to the site will be open from April 2 to May 3.
Leaves and grass can be added to your backyard compost bin, or you can contact your trash hauler to sign up for yard waste service. Trash haulers in Roseville are required to offer separate yard waste pickup, although they may charge an extra fee.
Yard waste, including leaves, grass clippings, garden waste, trees, branches and shrubs are accepted for free at Ramsey County yard waste collection sites. Sites are open Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during from April through November. Please note that trees, branches and shrubs are not accepted at the Battle Creek, Mounds View or Summit Hill yard waste collection sites.
Keeping leaves and grass out of the streets, protects our lakes and waterways. It’s especially important in spring and fall, when leaves and trash accumulate around storm drains, causing potential flooding problems.
