Many products used to maintain a home, yard or vehicle or to control pests are hazardous. Getting rid of any of those unwanted products can be a challenge. Ramsey County offers an easy, free solution.
Residents can drop off unwanted household hazardous waste materials at a free Ramsey County HHW collection site for safe disposal.
Items accepted include antifreeze, batteries (all types), bug killers/repellents, cell phones, cleaners, cooking oil (must be liquid), electrical cords and string lights (no battery packs), fluorescent lights, gasoline, mercury thermometers, needles and syringes (empty), paint, propane tanks (full or empty), used oil and filters, vaping devices, weed killer and more.
Check the label. If a label says CAUTION, WARNING, DANGER or POISON, it doesn’t belong in the trash unless the container is empty. Learn more about HHW collection and see a list of additional items accepted at RamseyRecycles.com/HHW.
