City Announces Temporary Facilities Closure

Following guidance from state health officials, effective Monday, March 16, to Monday, March 30, the City of Roseville will be closing all of its facilities to public access to limit the potential for community transmission of COVID-19.

The closure includes Roseville City Hall and Historical Society, Skating Center, License and Passport Center, Cedarholm Community Building, Harriet Alexander Nature Center, and all Parks Buildings. City Commission meetings will also be postponed during this time.

Roseville City Hall will reopen temporarily to the public Monday night during the scheduled City Council meeting at 6:00 p.m. To protect public safety, chairs in the Council Chamber will be set six feet apart to comply with Minnesota Department of Health social distancing recommendations.

The city asks for the public’s patience and understanding of this action. Essential city services will continue without interruption. City employees will be available by telephone and email during the facility closure.  

This decision to close city facilities and implement enhanced safety measure was made in collaboration with our public health partners at the local, county and state level with the health and well-being of community members, the Roseville business community, and city staff in mind.

This community mitigation effort is designed to protect the health of city staff and safeguard its ability to deliver services, including emergency access to police, fire and emergency medical service (EMS) response.
