Governor Orders Four-Week Dial-Back

Governor Tim Walz has ordered a four-week pause of most social activities, in-person dining, sports, and indoor fitness activities to help slow the rate of spread of COVID-19 in Minnesota.

The four-week pause will be in place from Friday, November 20 at 11:59 p.m. through Friday, December 18 at 11:59 p.m., according to Executive Order 20-99. While some businesses can continue to offer goods and services in a safe manner, others will be required to adjust their operations to “to-go” or virtual services.

In compliance with the Governor’s Executive Order, the City of Roseville will temporarily adjust its facilities, services and programming availability.

Effective Saturday, November 21 all indoor recreational facilities and the Guidant John Rose MN OVAL will pause operations. All recreational programs during this time will also be paused. Updates on all facilities and activities will be provided as more information becomes available at cityofroseville.com/parks. 

The City of Roseville understand the importance of Parks and Recreation to our community’s physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and are committed to offering independent, socially distant opportunities as possible.

Activities that will remain available to residents during the four-week pause include:

• More than 60 miles of trails that are maintained year-round for walking, running or riding.
• Golf at Cedarholm as long as weather conditions allow for play.
• Cross country ski trails at Acorn Park and Cedarholm Golf Course will be groomed as snow conditions allows.
• Cross country ski and snow shoe rentals will be available in mid-December.
• Neighborhood skating rinks for use by members of the same household (as weather allows). 
• 32 different parks throughout the city, all offering unique environments and play experiences. 
• Virtual programming including “virtual adult trips,” a virtual holiday craft fair and more. 

The City of Roseville looks forward to resuming safe and effective operation of facilities, programs and services as soon as conditions allow.
