Flu Shots

Flu Shots at City Hall

The Hennepin Healthcare Minnesota Visiting Nurses Association will give flu shots at City Hall from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 22. Free blood pressure, hearing and eye tests will also be available. The shots will be available to anyone 3 years or older. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and a photo ID is required (driver’s license or employee badge acceptable). Most health insurance is accepted. Help visitors eat like a local. The Roseville Visitors Association (RVA) is adding a new section in its 2019 visitor guide and they need your insider knowledge. Take the RVA’s short survey and let them know about your favorite Roseville establishments. What’s the best pizza? Who makes the best Mexican food? Who has the best kids’ menu? Voting is open now through Friday, October 12. Take the survey to make your favorites known and help our guests discover the best of Roseville.

Fire Station Open House

Explore Roseville’s fire station as we recognize fire prevention week. The Roseville Fire Department invites the community to an open house on Saturday, October 13. Drop in anytime from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Tour the building, climb on a fire truck, try some hands-on activities, enjoy refreshments and learn more about making your home safe. Park at City Hall, 2660 Civic Center Dr.

Healthy Aging Forum

This is not your average health fair. It’s a free, healthy aging forum designed to empower older adults to thrive in their community. Participants will take a deep dive into topics of interest and get takeaways that can be used in their daily lives. Local experts will provide information in fun and interactive presentations. Topics include fire and fall prevention, heart health, brain health, diabetes self-care, fraud and scam prevention and more. Read more

Natural Resources Renewal

Help Maintain Roseville Parks

Make an impact on Roseville parks and natural resources. Join our Natural Resources Renewal efforts to improve city parks. On October 20, we are looking for volunteers to help remove buckthorn from Pioneer Park from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Each month, Roseville hosts a volunteer opportunity at one of the local parks as part of the natural resources renewal project. It includes an educational component and status update of the overall natural resource restoration efforts. Read more

Hands-Only CPR Class

Roseville firefighters are offering a free, hands-only cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) class on Wednesday, October 17 at 6:30 p.m. The class meets at the Roseville Fire Station, 2701 Lexington Ave. Firefighters will teach an easy-to-learn hands-only CPR process. Cardiac arrest occurs when the heart stops and can no longer pump blood to the brain or vital organs. According to the American Heart Association, only about one in 10 heart attack victims survives. Read more

Raking Autumn Leaves

Why should you rake your leaves? It’s a simple answer: to protect the environment. Leaves decompose and restock the soil with nutrients and organic matter. But when the leaves land on the street or sidewalk, the decomposing bits wash down the street and into the storm drain. They go directly into lakes and rivers where the nutrients feed unwanted algae growth. When the algae dies and decomposes, it uses up oxygen that fish and native plants need. Read more
