City Council Swearing In January 7The City of Roseville invites you to join us as Mayor Dan Roe, Councilmember Bob Willmus and Councilmember-elect Wayne Groff take their oaths of office. The Mayor and Councilmembers will be sworn in on Monday, January 7 at 6:00 p.m. at Roseville City Hall, The ceremony can also be seen live on Roseville Cable Channel 16 and online. Fire Departments Receive AwardCongratulations to the Ramsey County Fire Chiefs Association (RCFCA) and to Roseville Fire Department. Their Closest Unit Dispatching collaborative efforts earned a 2018 Humphrey Institute Local Government Innovation Award (LGIA). The LGIA recognizes creative ways that counties, cities, townships, schools and native nations are making Minnesota better by pursuing innovation and service redesign. New Year, New HoursEffective January 2, the Roseville License Center will change its business hours, opening and closing earlier than the current schedule. Passport Center hours will not be affected. The Roseville License Center is located at 2737 Lexington Ave. It is one of the busiest license centers in the state. Park Shelters ReservationsStart making summer plans. The City of Roseville will start taking 2019 reservations for Central Park shelters on January 2. Roseville offers four picnic shelters that are available for rent from April 15 to October 15. Each shelter includes a kitchenette, electricity, water, restrooms, picnic tables and grills. Shelters have easy access to play areas and walking trails and offer other amenities. Staff will begin taking reservations at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 2. Read more

Free Car Seat ClinicThe City of Roseville is committed to keeping your children safe. One simple task is to make sure that your child’s car seat is installed correctly. Approximately 90% of car seats are not. This could lead to serious injury or death if your vehicle is in an accident. Roseville is collaborating with Regions Hospital to offer a free car seat clinic on Saturday, January 5. Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will help residents install their kids or grandkids’ car seats. Read more

Neighborhood RinksSkating at Roseville’s neighborhood parks is better than ever. Beginning December 21, warming house rooms at neighborhood rinks at Acorn, Autumn Grove, Lexington, Sandcastle, and Villa Parks will be open. The outdoor rinks have pushbutton lighting that lets skaters stay on the ice until 10:00 p.m., even when warming rooms are closed. Staffing at the outdoor rinks is dependent on weather conditions. Warming rooms close when temps drop to -15° or when wind chill drops to -25°. Read more

Skate the OVALSkating won’t take a holiday at the Roseville Skating Center. Bring your family and join your friends for some wholesome family fun. The Minnesota OVAL offers special hours over the next two weeks. Admission is $6.00, except December 31, when admission is $8.00. A limited number of skates are available to rent for $4.00, or bring your own skates. The Roseville Skating Center is located at 2661 Civic Center Drive. Read more

Natural Christmas DisposalThe holidays will soon be over and it’ll be time to take down the decorations. But what do you do with your natural Christmas tree? You can dispose of natural trees, wreaths and other greenery free at a Ramsey County Yard Waste Site. Remove all decorations, tinsel, lights, and tree bags. Flocked trees and wire wreaths are not accepted and may be placed in the trash. Collection sites are open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays and 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays through March. Read more
