Human Rights Essay Contest

Students, join us for a human rights essay contest. The Roseville Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement Commission invites sixth, seventh and eighth grade students to write an essay about the impact of social media. Contest rules are posted online and distributed to public and private schools in the Roseville Area School District. Students can contact their principal or teachers for information. Homeschooled students are encouraged to participate. Read more

Dementia: Caring & Coping

Improving the treatment and prevention of Alzheimer's Disease and other brain disorders is the focus of the next Roseville Alzheimer’s & Dementia Community Action Team (RSVL A/D) event on Thursday, September 12 at the Ramsey County Library in Roseville. Internationally recognized Alzheimer’s researcher and expert Dr. William Frey II will speak about the latest in treatment and prevention of Alzheimer's and reducing the risk of getting Alzheimer's through exercise and diet. Read more

Tapped and Uncorked

Beer aficionados and wine enthusiasts, the Friends of Roseville Parks Foundation (FOR Parks) invites you to get tapped and uncorked on Friday, September 27 at the OVAL. This is a chance to sample special releases and casks from local craft breweries, distilleries and cideries and taste a selection of wines, including many that are made in Minnesota. A variety of foods will be available to purchase from food trucks and local restaurants, with live music performed by Power of 10. Read more

RSVL A/D Leads Airport Initiative

The Roseville Alzheimer’s & Dementia Community Action Team (RSVL A/D) is leading an initiative to make Minneapolis St. Paul (MSP) Airport more dementia friendly and would like to hear your thoughts. A key step in doing so is collecting data through the MSP Airport Dementia Travel Survey. The anonymous survey will gather information and stories about air travel experiences from persons with dementia and the care partners with whom they have traveled. Read more

Join Roseville firefighters and the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) Local 5051 at Lunds & Byerlys in Roseville on Saturday, September 14 to Fill the Boot and help bring strength, independence and life to local Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) families. Roseville firefighters are joining firefighters across the country to fill firefighters’ boots with donations to be used to help find a cure for muscular dystrophy.

Wetland Planting

Make an impact on Roseville parks and natural resources. Roseville is looking for groups or individuals to help with our natural resources renewal efforts to improve city parks. On Saturday, September 21, we’ll be planting native plants in the wetland near the Central Park Arboretum. Planting will be in the wetlands and along the shore. Please dress for muddy conditions. Each month, Roseville hosts an opportunity for volunteers to help at a local park. Read more

Hands-Only CPR

Hands-only CPR Class

Roseville firefighters are offering free, hands-only cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) classes on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. This month the class will be Wednesday, September 18. The hour-long class meets at the Roseville Fire Station, 2701 Lexington Ave. Firefighters will teach an easy-to-learn hands-only CPR process. Cardiac arrest occurs when the heart stops and can no longer pump blood to the brain or vital organs. Read more

Most health experts agree on the benefits of adding exercise and social outings to your daily routine. It can help keep your brain sharp and your heart healthy. Exercise can help lower the risk of some cancers and help control diabetes and blood pressure. Exercise can improve range of motion and reduce some aches and pains. Read more
