The East Metro Swat Team was formed in 2007 to supplement the needs of the communities of Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, New Brighton, North St. Paul, Roseville, St. Anthony and the University of Minnesota.
The goal of the team is to aid the New Brighton Public Safety, North St. Paul Police, Roseville Police, St. Anthony Police, and University of Minnesota Police Departments in carrying out their duties in protecting and serving the communities they serve.
All members of the team complete monthly training above and beyond their normal work duties. This training includes: dynamic warrant services, barricaded subjects, hostage situations, hostage rescues, high risk traffic stops, weapons of mass destruction, active shooter response and other subjects.
