Explorer Competition
Gold Medal Award Winners! Fire Explorers from around Minnesota meet once a year in July for a statewide fire service competition. The competition has 8 main events:
  • Written firefighter entrance exam
  • CPR
  • Back boarding
  • Patient assessment
  • Search and rescue
  • Standpipe
  • Ladder evolution
  • Fire combat challenge
In 2000 at the competition after only 4 months of existence and training the Explorer Post took fourth place overall. The post has also taken home the Gold Medal award in 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004!

Roseville Fire Explorers participate in various activities. These include:
  • City open house
  • Explorer events through the Indianhead Council Boy Scout office
  • Fire Auxiliary BOOYA
  • Fire department drills including controlled structure “hot drills”
  • Fire Prevention Day at the Minnesota State Fair
  • Fire prevention
  • Fire Station open houses
  • Holiday bell ringing
  • National Night Out
  • Neighborhood block parties
  • Other Community functions
  • Rosefest activities including the Run for the Roses and Rosefest Parade
  • Roseville Fire Department Leadership Academy
  • Statewide fire explorer competition
  • Station staffing programs
  • Summer fire truck rides-in-the-park
