Police Launch Online Reports

Police Report

The Roseville Police Department has launched a new online reporting system that makes it easier for a person to file a police report. The new system allows anyone to report non-emergency crimes at their convenience.

Now, non-emergency crime reports such as damage to property, theft, fraud and forgery, or harassment can be filed without the help of an officer or a trip to the police station.

The online reporting system can be accessed at www.cityofroseville.com/police/file-a-report. The website includes a list of incidents that can be reported online.

In addition to making reporting incidents easier and more convenient, the new system is expected to reduce non-emergency 9-1-1 calls and free up officers who would normally respond to minor crimes.

Once an online report is filed, it is reviewed by Roseville Police, entered into the department’s record management system and assigned a case number. The person filing the report then receives an email confirmation and can print a copy of the report for their files.

A crime victim will continue to have the option of having a Roseville officer respond in person, stopping by the police station or contacting the department’s non-emergency telephone number at 651-767-0640 to file a police report or to report a non-emergency crime.

The new online system does not replace calling 9-1-1 and should not be used for emergencies or crimes in progress.
