Keeping Roseville Beautiful a Team Effort

leaf recyling

Keeping Roseville beautiful is a team effort. Public Works crews have already swept the city three times in 2018 and plan to make a final pass before the snow flies.

Crews pay special attention to Roseville’s environmentally sensitive areas in the Lake McCarrons watershed, as well as around Lake Owasso, Lake Josephine, Lake Johanna and Langton Lake. They also put in extra time clearing catch basins.

However, Public Works staff can’t do it alone. They are asking residents to pitch in and help keep leaves from private property off the streets and out of the storm water system.

Every fall, the city receives complaints about residents raking or blowing leaves into the street. This is a City Code violation. Leaves that enter the storm water system feed unwanted algae growth in our lakes and wetlands.

Residents can haul leaves to Roseville’s free Leaf Recycling Center at the southeast corner of Dale St and County Rd. C through November 21. For information about the Leaf Recycling Center, along with other options for leaf removal, visit www.cityofroseville.com/LeafRemovalOptions.

Residents can also take leaves, grass clippings, garden waste and brush to Ramsey County’s free yard waste collection sites. Visit www.ramseyrecycles.com/yardwaste or call 651-633-3279 (EASY) for locations and hours.
