State offers Property Tax Assistance

MN Dept of Revenue logo

The Roseville City Council reminds residents that they may be eligible for the State’s Property (Homestead) Tax Refund and Senior Citizen Property Tax Deferral Program.

Homeowners are eligible for the homestead credit if they meet income guidelines. Homeowners may also be eligible for a special homestead credit if their property tax increase is more than 12% and their net property tax increase is at least $100.

Property owners who are over the age of 65 and whose household income is $60,000 or less may also be eligible for a property tax deferral. The state of Minnesota will temporarily pay a portion of a senior’s property tax, but the senior is required to repay the property tax, plus interest.

Visit www.revenue.state.mn.us or call 651-296-3781 for more information about these programs.
