Roseville firefighters are offering free, hands-only cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) classes on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The next class is scheduled for Wednesday, January 15.
The hour-long class meets at the Roseville Fire Station, 2701 Lexington Ave. Firefighters will teach an easy-to-learn hands-only CPR process.Cardiac arrest occurs when the heart stops and can no longer pump blood to the brain or vital organs. According to the American Heart Association, only about one in 10 heart attack victims survives. By using hands-only CPR, we may be able to improve those odds.Hands-only CPR is CPR without mouth-to-mouth breaths. It is recommended for use by anyone who sees a person collapse suddenly.
