Roseville Extends Facility Closures

Based on continuing developments related to COVID-19 (coronavirus), the City of Roseville has extended the closure of all city buildings and facilities to public access through Sunday, May 3, 2020. The city has elected to proactively prolong the closure of all city buildings to public access through May 3 based on the continued circumstance surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and guidance provided by state and county health officials. Roseville Hosting Blood Drive

The Roseville Fire Department and the American Red Cross invite you to help those in need by donating a pint of blood on Friday, April 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Cedarholm Community Building. In response to COVID-19 (coronavirus), blood donations have dropped and drives have been postponed so that the Red Cross would have time to establish protocols to ensure the safety of blood donors and staff. The Red Cross is now adding blood drives in the community to make it easier for people to donate. Read more

Park and Playground Safety

The City of Roseville values the health and safety of its residents and visitors. All of Roseville’s city parks and trails remain open for use, but restrooms, playgrounds and other areas at risk of spreading the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) are closed. The city encourages visitors to practice social distancing, keeping at least six feet from others, while enjoying the city’s amenities.

April 1 is Census Day, the day the U.S. Census Bureau asks everyone living or staying in the United States or its territories to respond to the 2020 Census. Completing the 2020 Census is vital to ensure complete and accurate information. The current pandemic demonstrates the importance of an accurate count of all Minnesotans so that Minnesota gets its fair share of emergency response funding, health care, education and more.

Wipes (Et. Al.) Clog Pipes

Be careful what you flush. Tissues, paper towels, baby wipes, diapers or sanitary products should not be flushed down the toilet. Please dispose of those products in the wastebasket. Toilet tissue is designed to disintegrate quickly so it can safely travel through sanitary sewer pipes. Other products do not break down and will clog pipes. The last thing you want to deal with while sheltering in place is a plumbing problem.

April 13-17 is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Minnesota. Roseville Fire and Police ask residents, schools and businesses to review emergency plans for taking shelter in case of severe weather. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety promotes a better understanding of different types of severe weather and what you can do to protect yourself, your family and your business.

Tax Filing Deadline Delayed

Income Tax Filing Deadline Delayed

Due to COVID-19, the Minnesota Department of Revenue said taxpayers will have until July 15, 2020, to file and pay their 2019 Minnesota Individual Income Tax without any penalty or interest. This date coincides with the date that federal taxes are due. This includes all estimated and other tax payments for tax year 2019 that would otherwise be due April 15, 2020. It does not include estimated tax payments for the 2020 tax year.

REAL ID Deadline Extended

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has extended the deadline to obtain a REAL ID, the federally mandated identification needed for passengers to board aircraft, one year to October 1, 2021. The decision to extend the deadline was made due to circumstances resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and the national emergency declaration, and the desire to allow state and local authorities to focus on responding to COVID-19, according to DHS. Read more

Expired Driver's License Extension

Expired Driver's License Extension

Respite is on the way for drivers whose licenses recently expired or are scheduled to expire. New legislation allows drivers with expired licenses to renew up to two months after the COVID-19 emergency has concluded. Concern over the closure of the state’s 174 driver’s license agents and deputy registrar offices and the subsequent impact on drivers with expired or soon-to-be expired licenses led to the extension. The legislation passed on March 26. Read more
