Filing For Office

Filing for City Office Begins May 19

Two Roseville City Council seats will be up for election this year. Filing for office will be open from May 19 until June 2. Qualifications to run for office include: Eligible voter in the City of Roseville; 21 years of age or older upon assuming office; and Resident of the city for at least 30 days before general election. A candidate is required to pay a $5 filing fee or file a nominating petition. Contact Ramsey County at 651-266-2171 with questions.

Three May City Meetings Canceled

The City of Roseville announced that it has cancelled three May Commission meetings – Finance; Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement (HRIEC); and Public Works, Environment and Transportation (PWET). The city plans to hold the three commission meetings on their regularly scheduled dates in June. The Finance Commission is next scheduled to meet on Tuesday, June 9; HRIEC on Wednesday, June 17; and PWET on Tuesday, June 23. Read more

Parks and Rec Award

Parks and Rec Receives Award

Congratulations to the Roseville Parks and Recreation Department and Cedarholm Golf Course for receiving a 2019 Award of Excellence in Administrative and Management Strategies from the Minnesota Recreation and Park Association (MRPA). The Award of Excellence will be presented to the city at a Parks and Recreation Commission meeting this summer. Annually, MRPA presents awards of excellence for notable parks and recreation projects and programs. Read more

Be a Part of the Flower Power Team

Join Roseville’s Flower Power team. Roseville is looking for a few more volunteers to help plant flowers at Roseville’s Central Park. On May 16 and 17, we’re planting flowers along Lexington Ave. The boulevard will be divided into plots, and volunteers will be assigned to plots that are spaced apart to ensure adequate social distancing. The city will provide plants and a limited supply of tools. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own tools and gloves and to wear masks. Read more

Food Distribution Site

Food Distribution Site Added

The City of Roseville and The Sheridan Story have added a temporary food distribution site for anyone in need. Food bags will be available on Friday, May 8 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Unity Park, 1716 Marion Street. Anyone who may be struggling with food insecurity is encouraged to pick up a bag of food. The Sheridan Story will provide 330 food bags. Each food bag contains approximately four meals and is packaged and ready to go. Read more

Roseville Police say they are receiving an increase in reports of thefts from automobiles, and that the vehicles are frequently parked in a driveway and left unlocked. Theft from automobiles is generally a crime of opportunity. Thieves don’t want to draw attention to themselves so they are looking for unlocked vehicles. No matter where you are parked or whether you are just running a quick errand, close the sunroof and windows, lock all of the car doors and engage the car alarm. Read more

Virtual Home Energy Squad Visits

How energy efficient is your home? Roseville residents can find out with a free, virtual Home Energy Squad visit. Sign up for a virtual consultation. Energy experts will help you discover low-cost ways to reduce energy usage in your home. The free, virtual visits take from one to two hours. Participants complete a pre-visit questionnaire, letting the energy experts learn about the homeowner’s concerns and interests.

Compost Delivery Available

Roseville residents can pick up free compost from the bins in front of Roseville’s Leaf Recycling Center on Dale St., south of County Road C. This nutrient-rich compost will boost soil and help your garden. The City of Roseville will deliver up to six cubic yards of compost to homes in Roseville for a delivery charge of $40 per load. Deliveries will be made on Fridays. Deliveries can be scheduled online at www.cityofroseville.com/delivery or by calling 651-792-7004. Read more

HHW Mobile Collection Site Open

Where do you get rid of old fertilizer? What do you do with unwanted paint or pesticides? Drop it off contact-free at a Ramsey County household hazardous waste (HHW) collection site. Hazardous waste, including fluorescent lights and mercury vapor lamps, mercury thermostats and switches, old gasoline, paint, lead paint chips, solvents, pesticides, antifreeze, motor oil and filters, cell phones, propane tanks, or any products labeled poisonous, flammable or corrosive, can be disposed of at no cost.
