Chief's Message
October was an incredibly busy month at the Roseville Fire Department. Our call volume is still tracking above last year and we are in full swing of rolling out and performing our advanced life support (ALS) first response program. I would like to thank community members for joining us at our annual Open House on Saturday, October 8th. We had a couple hundred people join us for fire and emergency medical demonstrations, CPR instruction, touring the fire trucks, and learning how to use a fire extinguisher.
As we move into the late fall and winter and begin to see temperatures drop, it is of the utmost importance to remind the community about safety in the home when it comes to using the furnace and heating devices. It is important to have working carbon monoxide detectors and smoke alarms on all levels of your home. In addition, please be mindful when it comes to alternative heating sources. Never use your oven to heat your home, keep portable space heaters at least three feet from anything flammable, and make sure your wood stove is properly installed and ventilated.
It's that time of year a lot of people change their smoke alarm batteries and we do offer assistance with smoke alarm installation at the Fire Department for those that may need it. We aren't able to change out any electrical wiring, and might not be able to safely reach the smoke alarms that are in vaulted ceilings. If you need assistance please contact us at 651-792-7309
