Preliminary Budget, Levy Approved

The City Council has approved a preliminary property tax levy increase of 6.4 percent for 2018. The 6.4 percent increase to the levy is now the maximum amount the City Council can raise the 2018 tax levy. Once the preliminary levy is adopted it can be lowered, but not increased. The new levy is an increase of $1,243,040 compared to the 2017, but due to a shift in the tax base the portion of the increase realized by homeowners will be less than previous years. Read more

Raking Autumn Leaves

Why should you rake your leaves? It’s a simple answer: to protect the environment. Leaves decompose and restock the soil with nutrients and organic matter. But when the leaves land on the street or sidewalk the decomposing bits wash down the street and into the storm drain. They go directly into lakes and rivers where the nutrients feed unwanted algae growth. When the algae dies and decomposes it uses up oxygen that fish and native plants need. Read more

Buckthorn Busters

Buckthorn Busters!

Make an impact on Roseville parks and natural resources. Roseville is looking for volunteers to join our Natural Resources Renewal efforts to improve city parks. On October 21, we’ll be dragging and stacking buckthorn near the Central Park soccer fields. Each month, Roseville hosts a volunteer opportunity at one of the local parks as part of the natural resources renewal project. These efforts have greatly reduced the spread of buckthorn. Read more

Fire Station Open House

Explore Roseville’s fire station as we recognize fire prevention week. The Roseville Fire Department invites the community to an open house on Saturday, October 14. Drop in anytime from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Tour the facility, climb on a fire truck, try some hands-on activities, enjoy refreshments and learn more about making your home safe. Read more

Coffee with a Cop

Join your neighbors and police officers for free coffee and conversation. The Roseville Police invite community members to join them for National Coffee with a Cop Day on Wednesday, October 4. Roseville Police Officers will be at McDonalds, 2075 Snelling Ave. from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. This will be an opportunity for residents to ask questions, voice concerns and get to know the officers who serve the community.
