The Roseville City Council will hold its July 16 meeting at the newly opened Cedarholm Community Building, located at 2323 Hamline Ave. The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. The meeting is open to the public and will be available online at www.cityofroseville.com/webstreaming. Cable Channel 16 will also show the City Council meeting. Call 651-222-3333 to request free Universal Service that includes Channel 16.

Commission Openings

Looking for an opportunity to get involved in city government? The City Council is seeking applicants for two vacancies on the Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement Commission (HRIEC). The HRIEC encourages full participation in the affairs of the city and advises the City Council on programs and efforts that could improve civic engagement and community relations, and human rights. The deadline to apply is August 17. Read more

The Incredibles Movie at the OVAL

Join Roseville Parks and Recreation on Friday, July 13 for an evening of free family fun. We are showing The Incredibles on the big screen under the stars at the John Rose MN OVAL, 2661 Civic Center Drive. The Incredibles is a movie about a family of undercover superheroes. Help Maintain Roseville Parks

Make an impact on Roseville parks and natural resources. On Saturday, July 21, Roseville is looking for volunteers to help maintain the gardens at the Muriel Sahlin Arboretum. Each month, Roseville hosts a volunteer opportunity at one of the local parks as part of the natural resources renewal project. It includes an educational component and status update of the overall natural resource restoration efforts. Read more

K9s and Kids

Get to know your Roseville Police. Join us July 31 at the  Skating Center for a chance to meet School Resource Officer Crystal Jones and K9 Officer Kyle Eckert and his K9 partner Ragnar. Officer Jones will talk about her role as the School Resource Officer for Roseville Area High School and the trainings and challenges that she faces to help keep Roseville’s youth safe. Officer Eckert will talk about his experience at the K9 Training Academy and demonstrate a few of Ragnar’s skills. Read more

Help Stop Mosquitos

Don’t let mosquitoes stop your summer fun. You can help reduce the number of mosquitos by removing mosquito breeding grounds. Mosquitoes need just a few teaspoons of water to complete their life cycle. Fill in or remove any water-holding containers from your property. Empty rainspouts and keep gutters clear of debris. Change the water in your birdfeeder at least once a week so mosquito eggs can’t mature. Read more
