Solar Project to Go Live

The City of Roseville installed 80 kilowatts (kW) of on-site solar power at its City Hall campus over the winter and the system will begin feeding clean energy to the electrical grid on Monday, April 22. In addition to reducing Roseville’s campus electrical costs, it is estimated that the solar installation will offset approximately 55 tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually. The system includes two separate arrays fitted to the roofs of City Hall and the fire station. Read more

Firefighters Offer CPR Certification

Whether you need to be CPR certified for your profession or simply want to be prepared in an emergency, Roseville firefighters are available to help. They are offering CPR certification courses at the Roseville fire station and at your place of business. Roseville Fire is offering a four-hour course taught by firefighters who are American Heart Association certified instructors. They teach adult, children and infant CPR, and basic lifesaving skills, AED usage. Read more

Unwanted Solicitations

Around this time of year, City of Roseville staff get complaints from homeowners who have door-to-door salespeople pressuring them to buy products or services. In the springtime, complaints usually are about salespeople trying to sell lawn services, tree trimming or other landscaping projects. Some solicitors target senior citizens and try to scare them into making immediate decisions about their product or service. Solicitation in Roseville is legal but there are rules. Read more

Spectacular Summer Camps

Kids, fill your summer with action-packed, non-stop fun. Join us for a spectacular time this summer. Travel around the metro, explore the outdoors, meet interesting people and so much more. Summer Spectacular and Summer Spectacular Plus camps begin June 17 and run through August 15. Camps meet Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. No camp July 4. The Summer Spectacular Camp is designed for kids entering kindergarten through fourth grade. Read more

Roseville Named Tree City USA

Celebrate Arbor Day and plant a tree! Friday, April 26 is Arbor Day in the City of Roseville. In honor of Arbor Day, the Arbor Day Foundation has named Roseville a Tree City USA. To become a Tree City USA, a community must have a tree board or department, a tree care ordinance, a community forestry program and an Arbor Day observance. The National Arbor Day Foundation sponsors the Tree City USA program in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters and the USDA Forest Service. Read more
