Resources to Remain Independent

The Roseville Alzheimer’s and Dementia Community Action Team (RSVL A/D) is hosting a resource fair for seniors, caregivers and care recipients on Thursday, June 13 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Rose Room at the Roseville Skating Center. The resource fair will introduce products and services to help seniors live their best lives. The fair will feature equipment, resources and activities for seniors, senior caregivers, seniors with special care needs and family members. Read more

Rose Parade Grand Marshals

Please join Celebrity Grand Marshal King Boreas Rex LXXXIII of the St. Paul Winter Carnival, Roseville’s own Monte Johnson, for the Rose Parade on Monday, June 24. Johnson is a long-time Roseville resident. He has volunteered with Roseville Parks and Recreation, Roseville Youth Basketball Association, Central Park Foundation, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Minnesota Special Olympics and more. This year’s Community Grand Marshal is the Brausen family. Read more

Rose Parade Street Closings

Motorists, please plan ahead for the evening of the Rose Parade. Certain roads along the parade route will be closed on Monday, June 24, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Parade planners encourage motorists to take alternate routes to avoid congestion. Parade volunteers and police officers will staff the route to direct traffic should an emergency arise. The Rose Parade is one of the biggest in the Twin Cities. It begins at 6:15 p.m. on County Road B2 near Roseville Area High School. Read more

Golden Rose Medallion Hunt

How well do you know Roseville? Find out on Thursday, June 27, when the first clue for Roseville’s Golden Rose Medallion is released. Follow the clues about Roseville and you could win a basket of prizes. The first clue for the Golden Rose Medallion Hunt will be released at 6:55 p.m. at the Frank Rog Amphitheatre in Central Park on June 27. June 17-23 is National Pollinator Week. It’s time to celebrate bees, birds, butterflies, bats and beetles. Pollinators are vital for most flowers, fruits and vegetables to reproduce. Many of the country's crops would not exist and crop yield and quality would be greatly reduced without pollinators. Unfortunately, the pollinator population, in particular the honeybee, has declined rapidly in recent years because of habitat loss, pesticide overuse and disease. Read more

Help our Gardens Grow

Volunteer and get your hands dirty. The City of Roseville is looking for some green thumbs. Even if your thumb isn’t so green, you can help. Roseville is seeking volunteers on Wednesday, June 19 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.to weed at the orchard located at the Muriel Sahlin Arboretum. The orchard includes more than 100 fruit-bearing trees, shrubs and pollinator friendly plants. It provides an opportunity for community members to learn how to grow, harvest and preserve fresh produce. Read more
