School's Open - Watch for Kids

School opening is around the corner, so it’s a good time to review the rules of the road. Roseville Police remind you to slow down in school zones. Watch for kids (and adults) walking or riding and look for crossing guards, safety patrols and school buses. It is illegal for vehicles driving in either direction to pass a school bus that has its red lights flashing or its stop arm extended. The speed limit on most city streets is posted. If it is not posted the speed limit is 30 mph. Read on

Wild Rice Festival

Join us at Harriet Alexander Nature Center (HANC) on Saturday, September 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. as HANC, together with event partners Pow Wow Grounds Café and Gibbs Farm, celebrates the Wild Rice Festival. The Wild Rice Festival is a free, family-friendly celebration of wild rice, Native American cultures and Minnesota’s harvest season. Music, storytelling and dance performances, traditional wild ricing, honey extraction, apple cider press demonstrations and Native American crafts will be offered throughout the day.  Read on

Check out Roseville's Skate Park

Skateboarders, bikers and inline skaters, check out Roseville’s Skate Park for some autumn fun. The Park will remain open until October 6, weather permitting. Autumn hours begin September 3. Inline skating and the skate park will be open daily from noon until sunset. Entry to the skate park is free. The  Skating Center is located at 2661 Civic Center Dr.Visit www.cityofroseville.com/oval for additional information. The Skate Park is available for private use. Roseville's Open Mic Night

Show us your stuff. It’s Open Mic Night in Roseville. Join us at Cedarholm Community Building, 2323 Hamline Ave., on Thursday, September 19 at 7:00 p.m. Open Mic Night is a chance to showcase your talent at this family-friendly gathering. Talented musicians, comedians, singers, poets, storytellers and others are invited to take to the stage. Call 651-792-7154 to sign up for a spot. Artists are encouraged to bring their entourage (aka family and friends). Full menu and refreshments will be available for purchase.
