When she started volunteering?
Kay, who is 92 years old, has volunteered for most of her life. She raised her family in Roseville and wanted to return something to the community. Kay started volunteering by using her nursing skills, volunteering for the Red Cross at the State Fair. She volunteered for 10 years at the senior center. Kay was a Powderpuff Clown, entertaining many in Roseville. She also spent several years coordinating the Rose Parade. Kay also volunteered as an election judge. She currently volunteers at Harriet Alexander Nature Center, craft shows and special events. Kay also volunteers at her senior apartment complex, coordinating birthday celebrations and monthly gatherings.
Why she volunteers for Roseville?
Kay likes to keep busy. She appreciates the chance to make things nicer for others. Lots of people aren’t able to help and it makes her happy to be able to help others.
