Volunteer Spotlight: Terry Newby

Our favorite type of people – volunteers!

Volunteers enhance our outreach to the community. This month, we thank Terry Newby for volunteering.

Types of volunteering

Terry served as a member and chair of the Parks and Recreation Commission. He has also volunteered for playground builds, buckthorn/weed clearing outings in city parks, and events at Harriet Alexander Nature Center. Currently Terry is a member of the Police Department Multi-cultural Advisory Committee (MAC), a new group charged with advising the RPD on issues facing minority communities in Roseville.

Why he volunteers

Terry volunteers because Roseville is a great community, and volunteering is his way of giving back to the city he has called home since 2001.

Best thing about volunteering

Terry said the best thing about volunteering is meeting like-minded Roseville residents, and knowing that he is doing his part to keep Roseville a great community.

Because he volunteers

Thanks to volunteers like Terry, the city can offer a variety of low-cost programs and events for the community to enjoy. Terry’s involvement in the MAC will help shape Roseville’s future to be a stronger, more welcoming community for all.
