Mosaic Cairns
In 2023, the City of Roseville commissioned three mosaic cairns to be placed around the Harriet Alexander Nature Center. Each cairn features plants and animals found in Minnesota forest, marsh, and prairie habitats, similar to the 52 acres at the nature center.
Locations
The cairns are located in three areas of the nature center. Signage will be installed in spring 2025, highlighting the locations as well as information about the project. Visitors are encouraged to visit each unique cairn.
- On the west side of the parking lot
- Near the Interpretive Center
- On the trail past the boardwalk entrance
What is a Cairn?
In modern times, cairns are eye-catching landmarks built to mark trails and significant locations. These cairns will guide visitors to the nature center.
