The Roseville Police Department will hold a community notification meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 11 to share information about a Level 3 predatory offender.
Nathan William Charles Jones, a Level 3 predatory offender, has registered to live in the 3100 block of Old Highway 8 in Roseville.
This meeting will include presentations from the Minnesota Department of Corrections Community Notification Unit and the Roseville Police Department. The meeting will be recorded, and the video will be posted on the Roseville Police Department’s website following the meeting.
Jones has been convicted of Criminal Sexual Conduct or another offense that requires registration with law enforcement pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 243.166 or 243.167. This individual has served the sentence imposed on them by the court and is transitioning into the community.
This notification is not intended to increase fear but rather raise awareness. Law enforcement cannot dictate where this individual resides, works, or attends school.
It is important to note that while predatory offenders have been released into Minnesota communities for many years, it was only after the passage of the Registration Act of 1991 that law enforcement gained the ability to monitor their residence changes. The Community Notification Act further empowers community officials to share this information with the public.
