The City of Roseville is building a new park on the western edge of the city and residents are invited to help name this new community green space.
The Roseville Parks and Recreation Commission is seeking name suggestions for the .8-acre neighborhood park at 2381 County Road B. The Parks and Recreation Commission will compile a list of suggestions and recommend a new park name to the City Council later this summer.
Under the City's naming policy, the following elements could be useful for park naming:
Natural habitat (vegetation, terrain, animals)
Geographic location (street names, directions)
Appropriate non-descript terminology (acronyms or joining of two words, names, activities)

Naming the park is one component of the community engagement process. Residents have also helped design the new park and select amenities at a series of community meetings.
The final park master plan for the new park was adopted by the City Council last October and includes a playground structure and a multi-hoop basketball hoop buffered by native prairie and woodland plantings. A picnic grove will serve as a focal point of this new green space.
Construction is scheduled to begin later this year.
