Urban Coyotes

Coyotes are extremely adaptable animals and can easily survive in an urban setting. The Roseville Police Department often receives calls from residents asking for help to catch and remove coyotes from a neighborhood. The City does not capture wild animals unless they have injured a person or are showing aggressive or threatening behavior.

To better inform residents about coyotes, the Roseville Police Department hosted a Coyote Clinic.

Household habits can often encourage coyotes. Pet food that is left outside, birdfeeders, fruit trees, gardens or unsecured garbage and compost bins can become a food source for coyotes.
